Detroit, Mich.—Detroit Equestrian Play Therapy will honor living legends in the Michigan Black Horseman community and throughout the country. This first annual awards banquet will take place at Alkebulan Village: 7701 Harper Detroit, MI, at 6:30pm on Friday March 24, 2023. Some of the legendary equestrian awardees include: The long standing director of the Michigan Black Horsemen, the founder of the Detroit Buffalo Soldiers, and the National Polo Champion, Kareem Rosser of Philadelphia to name a few.
“Honor the great ones and give them their roses while they can smell and enjoy their beauty! Our role here at Detroit Equestrian Play Therapy is to do just that! Our living legends are our Unsung Heroes and Sheores!
“There are many living legends in the black horse community that have served for many years that have gone unrecognized but yet day after day for decades they have and still serve our horses and community humbly. It’s time they receive their recognition!”
“Black equestrians from all over the country will “high tail it” to the city of Detroit to honor their living legends. The honorees skill sets include but are not limited to: Both male and female Horse Trainers, Horse Furriers, Champion Barrel Racers, Champion Polo Riders, Directors of Horse Organizations, Champion Dressage Trainers, veterinarians, and Black Rodeo organizers.
“We are so fortunate to have the author of: “Crossing the Line”, and Polo Champion Kareem Rosser to join us for our Fist Annual Awards banquet. Kareem has done an amazing work in Philadelphia with the Work to Ride program. The Work to Ride (WTR) is a nonprofit prevention program that seeks to aid disadvantaged urban youth by offering horsemanship, equine sports, and education. Detroit youth and adults alike now have the same opportunities available to them via Detroit Equestrian Play Therapy. What an epic night it will be for all!
“Detroit Equestrian Play Therapy strives to provide equestrian play therapy through education, training, and hands on experiences. On this night, the Black Horse community in Detroit and the country abroad will be in one room at the same time honoring its living legends. This will surely be a night to remember in our city. Saddle up, mount up, and ride to Detroit.
